Top 10 Most Marketable KMTC Certificate Courses

It is pretty obvious that everyone is always aiming to get the best grades that will give them a doorway to the best institutions in the region so as they get to pursue their preferred course that gives them the good life they want.

However, not every KCSE student always ends up in universities. For most students, failure to secure a slot in their preferred university means the end of their education and career.

Health Records and IT;

As the name suggests, this certificate course involves you learning all the health records techniques and requirements with the help of Information Technology due to the digitalization in this current age. The course takes about 2 years and students need to get at least a mean score of C- in KCSE to stand a chance. This course is offered in KMTC colleges such as Nairobi, Kitui and Garissa.

Environmental Health Sciences;

One has to get a mean score of C-, C- in English, a D+ in Maths or Physics and a C- in Biology to stand a chance. This certificate course is offered in KMTCs such as Kabarnet, Embu, Eldoret, Manza and Kwale.

Orthopaedic Trauma Medicine;

It was formerly known as ‘Orthopaedic Plaster Technology.’ To stand a chance, one has to get a mean grade of C- in KCSE, a C- in English language and a D+ in Maths or Physics. Colleges that offer it include Machakos, Nairobi and Chuka.

Medical Engineering;

This certificate course takes 2 years to study and one has to have got a mean grade of a C- in KCSE to stand a chance. Kilifi KMTC offers this.

Nursing;

This is one of the most marketable certificate courses in Kenya. The course takes 2.5 years and it is offered in colleges such as Lodwar, Kabarnet and Carissa among others.

Health Promotion for the Deaf;

This is a certificate course solely for the deaf students. For one to qualify, you must have had a D+ in English/ Kenyan sign language and a D in Maths/ Chemistry. The course takes about 2 years to study.

Community Nutrition;

This course in itself can make you a certified nutritionist. The course takes about 2 years and it is offered in colleges such as Thika, Kuria and Homabay.

Community Health/ Nursing;

To stand a chance, one has to have had a mean score of C- in KCSE, C- in English/ Kiswahili, a C- in Biology/ Biological Science and a D+ in Chemistry/ Physics.

Nutrition and Dietetics;

Here, you get to learn about what the body needs in terms of intake and how to adjust when needs vary. To stand a chance, one needs to have a mean score of D+ in KCSE, a D+ in English/ Kiswahili and Bio and a D in Chemistry/ Physics.

Psychiatric Nursing;

This course takes 2.5 years to study but it is totally worth it. One needs to have had a C- in English/ Kiswahili and Biology and a D+ in Maths/ Physics.
