KMTC Mathare Campus Background Information & Location
Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) – Mathare Campus is one of the 71 constituent campuses of KMTC. The campus is located along Thika road, 4 kilometres away from Nairobi CBD opposite Muthaiga Police Station in Nairobi County, Kenya. It was established in 1961 by the colonial government to train Enrolled Psychiatric Nurses (EPN) who were then deployed at Mathare Mental Hospital once they finalized training. The campus currently has 330 students enrolled.

The main clinical experience site used by students at KMTC Mathare Campus is the Mathare Mental Hospital. In addition, other major hospitals such as Kenyatta National Hospital are used as clinical experience sites.
