KMTC Certificate Courses Offered, Minimum Qualifications, fee structure and Intakes

The Kenya Medical Training College, KMTC, accredited to offer medical courses. Courses offered at KMTC range from certificate to postbasic or higher diploma.

Each year, the college invites qualified candidates for admission into Medical Courses.

Upon meeting minimum qualifications, a student can be admitted in one of the 68 campuses situated in different parts of the country.

In this article am going to take you through all certificate courses offerd in KMTC, minimum qualification and intakes.

It is wort noting that certificate courses take 2 years except for Community Health Nursing which takes 2 1/2 years, while diploma courses courses take 3 Years.

Department of Health Promotion and Community Health Community Health Assistant

 

KCSE Mean Grade of C-, with D+ in English or Kiswahili, D+ in Biology OR Biological sciences. D in any of the following; Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics or Physical Sciences or Foundation course in Community Health 2 years

 

Health Promotion for the Deaf (CHPD), deaf students only KCSE Mean Grade D+, with D+ in English or Kiswahili or Kenya Sign Language, D in Biology and any one of the following: Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Agriculture, Social Studies or C.R.E/I.R.E 2years

 

Department of Health Records & Information Technology Health Records and Information Technology

 

Mean Grade C-, C- in English or Kiswahili, D in Biology/Biological Sciences. D- in Mathematics and D+ in any one of the following: Physics / Physical Sciences, Chemistry, General Sciences, Computer Studies, Agriculture, Home Science, Economics, Geography, Commerce and Business Studies 2 years

 

Health Records and Information Technology (In service category) KCSE Mean grade D+, with D+ in English or Kiswahili, D- in Mathematics. Working experience of 2 years in a Health Records and Information Department. Recommendation letter from Health Records & Information Officer in charge of the facility & Letter of appointment to the current position 2 years

 

Department of Medical Engineering Medical Engineering Technology

 

KCSE Mean Grade of C-, with C- In English or Kiswahili, D in Mathematics and D in Physics/Physical Sciences or Chemistry. D in any one of the following: – Chemistry, Biology/ Biological Sciences, Electricity, Metal Work, Technical Drawing 2 years

 

Department of Nutrition and Dietetics Nutrition & Dietetics

 

KCSE Aggregate Grade D+, with D+ in English or Kiswahili and Biology or Biological Sciences. D in Chemistry/Physical Sciences. D in any one of the following: Physics, Mathematics, General Science, Home Science, Agriculture or Business Studies 2 years

 

Department of Nursing Enrolled Community Health Nursing KCSE Mean grade of C-, C- in Kiswahili or English & Biology or Biological Sciences. D+ in any one of the following: Chemistry or Physical Science or Physics or Mathematics 2 years

 

Department of Public Health Public Health
