School history and basic information
Kangaru High School was started in the 1920s by the first missionaries to arrive in Kenya. Later in January 1947, the institution was rebuilt by Sir Robin Wainright on a Harambee basis. The name ‘Kangaru’ originated from a village around the school that had the same name.
Later in 1968, the school was separated and ceased being a mixed school to become a boys only institution.
