TSC Sets Aside 5% of Recruitment Slots For Teachers With Disabilities

Teachers Service Commission, TSC, has directed county directors to see to it that 5% of the recently advertised posts are reserved for the recruitment of teachers with disabilities.

“The Commission shall ensure that 5% of all the advertised slots are reserved for the recruitment of teachers with disabilities in accordance to the provisions of Constitution and the Law,”  read a statement from the commission.

This affirmative action is of the employers moves to ensure that the recruitment process is fair to all applicants irrespective of their condition.

Apart from setting aside five percent of the recruitment slots, the teachers’ employer also gives priority to an applicant’s disability to break a tie during county selection process.
