 Duties and Responsibilities

This is an entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will include:-

  • receiving, verifying and recording applications for processing of passports, permits, residence certificates, alien certificates, visas, visitor passes citizenship and conventional (CTD) for refugees and any other travel documents;
  • receiving applications and determining eligibility for entry into and exit out of Kenya;
  • profiling persons entering or leaving border points;
  • capturing and entering data;
  • undertaking border patrols to control entry of illegal immigrants;
  • gathering basic information for investigation of immigration related offences; and
  • attending to simple complaints and enquiries on immigration issues

This is an entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a more experienced officer. Duties and responsibilities will include:-

  • screening and receiving materials for analysis;
  • storing, retrieving and issuing out materials of analysis;
  • sampling at various sites;
  • carrying out field tests;
  • preparing reagents for analysis;
  • maintaining record; and
  • carrying out laboratory analysis of samples

This is an entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the supervision and guidance of a more senior and experienced officer. Duties and responsibilities will include:-

  • cleaning and sterilizing laboratory glass ware, surfaces and equipment;
  • documenting and receiving samples for analysis;
  • preparing laboratory reagents;
  • carrying out chemical/microbiological analysis on samples (food, water, waste waters and beverages);
  • extracting, isolating and identifying drugs, pesticides and heavy metal from biological and miscellaneous samples; and
  • disposing laboratory wastes

  • collecting and analyzing market data for valuation purposes;
  • appointing rents following subdivisions, change of users and lease extensions; (iv) undertaking Stamp Duty valuation;
  • inspecting land and properties for rating, purchase, sale and leasing purposes;
  • making searches on titles in land registries for various purposes;
  • calculating areas from building plans and maps;
  • measuring buildings in the field for valuation;
  • preparing plans and lists of plot owners and areas affected by land acquisition projects; and
  • filing stamp duty valuation reports

GEO-MANAGEMENT INFORMATION OFFICER – TEN (10) POSTS–V/NO. 8/2023

Duties and Responsibilities

  • identifying and documenting system user requirements;
  • carrying out system analysis and design;
  • providing user support for Geo Information Management Systems;
  • setting up and maintaining Geo Information Management System devices; and
  • installing and configuring application systems

  • drafting briefs and reports on shipping and maritime matters; and
  • preparing preliminary working documents for sensitization of stakeholders on safety, security and prevention of pollution of marine environment by ships

  • preparing and processing of airline schedules;
  • drafting briefs and reports on air transport matters;
  • preparing county status reports for facilitation of air transport; and
  • liaising with other departments and agencies on matters related to air transport
