Siaya County is among the counties that are located in the Nyanza Region of Kenya. Siaya County has an area of 2,529.8Km² and it borders Busia County to the North, Kakamega County to the Northeast, Vihiga County to the East, Kisumu County to the South East.
As per the 2019 Census, the population of Siaya County was nine hundred and ninety three thousand one hundred and eighty three (993,183).
In the 2017 General Elections, Siaya County had a total number of four hundred and fifty seven thousand thousand nine hundred and seventy five (457,975) registered voters.
The Governor of Siaya County is H.E Amoth Cornel Rasanga. The Senator of Siaya County is Hon. Aggrey Bob James Orengo and Hon Oduor Ombaka Christine is the Women Representative.
Siaya County is divided into six constituencies and thirty electoral wards. Below is a list of all the consituencies in Siaya County, Wards in each ward and the current Member of Parliament;
Ugenya Constituency
Hon. David Ochieng is the current Ugenya Constituency Member of Parliament. Ugenya Constituency has four wards which include; West Ugenya, Ukwala, North Ugenya and East Ugenya.It had 57,603 registered voters in the 2017 General Elections.
Ugunja Constituency
Ugunja Constituency is represented Hon. James Opiyo Wandayi. It has three wards which include; Sidindi, Sigomere and Ugunja. The Constituency had 50,487 registered voters in the 2017 elections.
Alego Usonga Constituency
The Member of Parliament of Alego Usonga Constituency is Hon. Samuel Onunga Atandi. The Constituency has six wards which include; Usonga, West Alego, Central Alego, Siaya Township, North Alego, South East Alego. It had 103,338 voters in the 2017 General Elections.
Gem Constituency
Hon. Elisha Ochieng Odhiambo is the Gem parliamentary representative. Its wards are six and they include; North Gem, West Gem, Central Gem, Yala, Township, East Gem and South Gem. It had 80,472 registered voters in the 2017 General Elections.
Bondo Constituency
Hon. Gideon Ochanda Ogolla is the current Bondo Constituency Member of Parliament. Bondo Constituency has six wards which include; West Yimbo, Central Sakwa, South Sakwa, Yimbo East, West Sakwa and North Sakwa. It had 90,278 registered voters in the 2017 General Elections.
Rarieda Constituency
Hon. Paul Otiende Amollo is the current Rarieda Member of Parliament. Funyula Constituency has five wards which include; East Asembo, West Asembo, North Uyoma, South Uyoma and West Uyoma. It had 75,779 registered voters in the 2017 General Elections.
