Nyeri County is among the counties that are located in the Central Region of Kenya. Makueni County has a total landmass of 3,325Km². Nyeri County borders Kirinyaga county to the East, Nyandarua to the West, Muranga to South, Laikipia to the North and Meru county to the North Eas.
As per the 2019 Census, the population of Nyeri County was seven hundred and fifty nine thousand one hundred and sixty four (759,164). In the 2017 General Elections, Nyeri County had a total number of four hundred and fifty seven thousand, one hundred and ninety seven (457,197) registered voters.
The Governor of Nyeri County is H.E Kahiga Edward Mutahi. The Senator of Nyeri County is Hon. Eng Ephraim Mwangi Maina and Hon Wachira Rahab Mukami is the Women Representative.

Tetu Constituency
Tetu Constituency has three wards. The wards in Tetu Constituency are Dedan Kimathi, Wamagana and Aguthi-Gaaki. The current Member of Parliament of Tetu Constituency is Hon. James Gichuhi Mwangi. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 51,716 Voters.
Kieni Constituency
The current Member of Parliament of Kieni Constituency is Hon James Mathenge Kanini Kega. The Constituency has eight wards. They include Mweiga, Naromoro Kiamthaga, Mwiyogo/Endara Sha, Mugunda, Gatarakwa, Thegu River, Kabaru and Gakawa . In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 109,009 Voters.
Mathira Constituency
Hon. Rigathi Gachagua is the current Mathira Constituency Member of Parliament. The Constituency has six electoral wards which are Ruguru, Magutu, Iriani, Konyu, Kirimukuyu and Karatina Town. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 99,496 Voters.
Othaya Constituency
Othaya Constituency has four wards. The wards include; Mahiga, Iria-Ini, Chinga and Karima. The Constituency’s current Member of Parliament is Hon. James Gichuki Mugambi. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 58,566 Voters.
Mukurweini Constituency
Mukurweini Constituency has four electoral wards which are Gikondi, Rugi, Mukurwe-Ini West and Mukurwe-Ini Central . The Member of Parliament of Mukurweini Constituency is Hon. Anthony Githiaka Kiai. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 55,310 Voters.
Nyeri Town Constituency
Hon Martin Deric Ngunjiri Wambugu is the current Nyeri Town Member of Parliament. Nyeri Town Constituency has five electoral wards which include; Kiganjo/Mathari, Rware, Gatitu/Muruguru, Ruring’u and Kamakwa/Mukaro. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 83,108 Voters.
