Machakos County is among the counties that are located in the Eastern Region of Kenya. Machakos County has an area of 6,042.7 Km². Machakos County borders Embu to the North, Kitui to the East, Makueni to the South, Nairobi and Kiambu counties to the West, Kajiado to the South West and Murang’a and Kirinyaga to the North West.
As per the 2019 Census, the population of Machakos County was one million one four hundred and twenty one thousand nine hundred and thirty two(1,421,932). In the 2017 General Elections, Machakos County had a total number of six hundred and twenty thousand, three hundred and sixty three (620,363) registered voters.
The Governor of Machakos County is H.E Dr. Alfred Mutua. The Senator of Machakos County is Hon. Kabaka Boniface Mutinda and Hon Joyce Kamene is the Women Representative.

Masinga Constituency
Masinga Constituency has five wards which include; Kivaa, Masinga, Central, Ekalakala, Muthesya and Ndithini. Masinga Constituency Member of Parliament is Hon Joshua Mbithi Mwalyo. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 61,989 Voters.
Yatta Constituency
Yatta Constituency has five wards which are Ndalani, Matuu, Kithimani, Ikomba and Katangi . Hon. Charles Kilonzo is the Yatta Constituency Member of Parliament. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 73,995 Voters.
Kangundo Constituency
Kangundo Constituency has four. The four wards in Kangundo Constituency are Kangundo North, Kangundo Central, Kangundo East and Kangundo West. Hon Fabian Kyule Muli is the Member of Parliament. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 53,475 Voters.
Matungulu Constituency
Matungulu Constituency has five wards; Tala, Matungulu North, Matungulu East, Matungulu West and Kyeleni. The Member of Parliament of Matungulu Constituency is Hon. Stephen Mutinda Mule. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 66,611 Voters.
Kathiani Constituency
Kathiani Constituency’s Member of Parliament is Hon Robert Mbui. Kathiani Constituency has four wards which are; Mitaboni, Kathiani Central, Upper Kaewa/Iveti and Lower Kaewa/Kaani. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 54,909 Voters.
Mavoko Constituency
The Member of Parliament of Mavoko Constituency is Hon. Patrick Makau King’ola. Mavoko Constituency has four electoral wards. They include; Athi River, Kinanie, Muthwani and Syokimau/Mulolongo. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 117,180 Voters.
Machakos Town Constituency
Machakos Town Constituency has seven electoral wards, the wards include Kalama, Mua, Mutitini, Machakos Central, Mumbuni North, Muvuti/Kiima-Kimwe and Kola. The Constituency’s Member of Parliament is Hon. Victor Kioko Munyaka. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 109,931 Voters.
Mwala Constituency
Mwala Constituency has six wards. The wards include; Mbiuni, Makutano/Mwala, Masii, Muthetheni, Wamunyu and Kibauni. The Member of Parliament is Hon Vincent Musyoka Musau. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 71,275 Voters.
