Lamu is a County located at the coastal region of the Kenya. The county borders the Indian Ocean and is known for its tourist attraction sites. Lamu County covers an area of 6,273Km².
As per the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census, Lamu County has a total population of one hundred and forty three thousand nine hundred and twenty (143,920). In the 2017 General Elections, Lamu County had a total of sixty nine thousand seven hundred and ninety three (69,793) registered voters.
The County Governor of Lamu is H.E Twaha Fahim Yasin. Hon. Obo Ruweida Mohamed is the Senator of Lamu County and the County’s Women Representative is Hon Obo Ruweida Mohamed.
Lamu County has two (2) constituencies and they include Lamu East Constituency and Lamu West Constituency. Lamu County has ten (10) electoral wards.

Lamu East Constituency
The current Member of Parliament of Lamu East Constituency is Hon Shariff Athman Ali. The Constituency has three wards. They include Faza, Kiunga and Basuba . In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 18,234 Voters.
Lamu West Constituency
The current Member of Parliament of Lamu West Constituency is Hon Stanley Muiruri Muthama. The Constituency has seven wards. They include Shella, Mkomani, Hindi, Mkunumbi, Hongwe, Witu and Bahari. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 51,559 Voters.
