Kitui County is among the counties that are located in the Eastern Region of Kenya. Kitui County has an area of 30,429.5 Km². Kitui County borders Taita Taveta to the South, Tana River County to the East Makueni and Machakos to the West, Embu to the North West and Tharaka Nithi. It also borders  Meru County to the North.

As per the 2019 Census, the population of Kitui County was one million one hundred and thirty six thousand one hundred and eighty seven (1,136,187). In the 2017 General Elections, Kitui County had a total number of four hundred and seventy four thousand five hundred and sixty three (474,563) registered voters.

The Governor of Kitui County is H.E Ngilu Charity Kaluki. The Senator of Kitui County is Hon. Wambua Enoch Kiio and Hon Kasalu Irene Muthoni is the Women Representative.

Kitui County has eight (8) constituencies and forty (40) electoral wards. Below is a list of all the consituencies in Kitui County, Wards in each ward and the current Member of Parliament;

Mwingi North Constituency

Mwingi North Constituency has five electoral wards and they include; Ngomeni, Kyuso, Mumoni, Tseikuru and Tharaka . The Mwingi North Member of Parliament is Hon. Paul Musyimi Nzengu. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 61,491 Voters.

Mwingi West Constituency

Mwingi West Constituency has four wards which include; Kyome/Thaana, Nguutani, Migwani and Kiomo/Kyethani. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 51,849 Voters. The Member of Parliament of Mwingi West Constituency is Hon. Charles Ngusya Nguna.

Mwingi Central Constituency

Mwingi Central Constituency has six wards which are Central, Kivou, Nguni, Nuu, Mui and Waita . Hon. Gideon Mutemi Mulyungi is the current Mwingi Central Constituency Member of Parliament. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 63,323 Voters.

Kitui West Constituency

Kitui West Constituency’s wards are four and they include; Mutonguni, Kauwi, Matinyani and Kwa Mutonga/Kithum Ula. The Member of Parliament of Kitui West Constituency is Hon. Edith Nyenze. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 52,042 Voters.

Kitui Rural Constituency

In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 49,614 Voters. Kitui Rural Constituency has four wards which are; Kisasi, Mbitini, Kwavonza/Yatta and Kanyangi. Its Member of Parliament is Hon. David Mwalika Mboni.

Kitui Central Constituency

Kitui Central Constituency has five wards which include; Miambani, Township Kyangwithya West, Mulango and Kyangwithya East. Kitui Central Constituency’s Member of Parliament is Hon. Benson Makali Mulu. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 70,769 Voters.

Kitui East Constituency

Kitui East Constituency has six electoral wards; Zombe/Mwitika, Nzambani, Chuluni, Voo/Kyamatu, Endau/Malalani and Mutito/Kaliku. Its Member of Parliament is Hon. Nimrod Mbithuka Mbai. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 57,290 Voters.

Kitui South Constituency

Kitui South Constituency has six wards. They include; Ikana/Kyantune, Mutomo, Mutha, Ikutha, Kanziko and Athi. The Member of Parliament is Hon. Rachael Kaki Nyamai. In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 68,185 Voters.
