Kirinyaga County is among the counties that are located in the Central Region of Kenya. Kirinyaga County has an area of 1478.3 Km². Kirinyaga County borders Embu County to the North East, East and South, Meru County to the North, Murang’a County to the South West and Nyeri County to the West.
As per the 2019 Census, the population of Kirinyaga County was six hundred and ten thousand four hundred and eleven (610,411). In the 2017 General Elections, Kirinyaga County had a total number of six hundred and twenty thousand, three hundred and sixty three (620,363) registered voters. In the 2017 General Elections, Kirinyaga County had a total of three hundred and forty nine thousand nine hundred and seventy (349,970) registered voters.
The Governor of Kirinyaga County is H.E Anne Mumbi Waiguru. The Senator of Kirinyaga County is Hon. Kibiru Charles Reubenson and Hon Ngirici Purity Wangui is the Women Representative.

Hon. Josphat Kabinga Wachira is the Member of the Parliament of Mwea Constituency. Mwea Constituency has eight wards. The eight wards of Mwea Constituency are Mutithi, Kangai, Wamumu, Nyangati, Murindiko, Gathigiriri, Teberer and Thiba. Mwea Constituency registered 122,449 voters in the 2017 General Elections.
Hon. Robert Gichimu Githinji is the Member of Parliament of Gichugu Constituency. Gichugu Constituency has five wards. The five wards of Gichugu Constituency are Kabare Baragwi, Njukiini, Ngariama and Karumandi. Gichugu Constituency registered 85,352 voters in the 2017 General Elections.
Hon. George Macharia Kariuki is the Member of Parliament of Ndia Constituency. Ndia Constituency has three wards. The three wards of Ndia Constituency are MuMukure, Kiine and Kariti. Ndia Constituency registered 66,083 voters in the 2017 General Elections.
