Kiambu is a County that is situated in the central region of the Kenya. Kiambu County covers an area of 2538.6 Km². Kiambu County borders Nairobi County and Kajiado County to the South, Nyandarua County to the North West, Machakos County to the East, Murang‘a County to the North and North East and Nakuru County to the West.
As per the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census, Kiambu County has a total population of two million four hundred and seventeen thousand seven hundred and thirty five (2,417,735). In the 2017 General Elections, Kiambu County had a total of one million one hundred and eighty one thousand and seventy six (1,181,076) registered voters.
The County Governor of Kiambu is H.E Nyoro James Karanja who was Ferdinand Waititu’s Deputy Governor before Waititu was impeached. Hon. Kimani Wamatangi Paul is the Senator of Kiambu County and the County’s Women Representative is Hon Wamuchomba Gathoni.
Kiambu County has twelve (12) constituencies and they include Gatundu South, Gatundu North, Juja, Thika Town, Ruiru, Githunguri, Kiambu, Kiambaa, Kikuyu, Kabete, Limuru and Lari.
