Garissa County is located in North Eastern Kenya. Wajir County covers an area of 44,736 Km². Garissa County borders Somalia. Tana River County to the West, Garissa County also borders Wajir County and Isiolo County to the North and Lamu County to the South.
The Population of Garissa County as per the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census the population was eight hundred and forty one thousand three hundred and fifty three (841,353). In the 2017 General Elections, Garissa County had a total of one hundred and sixty three thousand three hundred and fifty (163,350) registered voters.
The County Governor of Garissa is H.E Korane Ali Bunow. Hon. Haji Mohamed Yusuf is the Senator of Garissa County and the County’s Women Representative is Hon Gure Anab Mohamed.
Garissa County is divided into six (6) constituencies; Mandera West, Banissa, Mandera North, Mandera South, Mandera East and Lafey and thirty (30) electoral wards.

Garissa Township Constituency
Hon. Aden Bare Duale is the current Garissa Township Constituency Member of Parliament. The Constituency has four electoral wards which are Waberi, Galbet, Township and Iftin . In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 54,291 Voters.
Balambala Constituency
Hon. Abdi Omar Shurie is the current Balambala Constituency Member of Parliament. The Constituency has five electoral wards which are Balambala, Danyere, Jarajara, Saka and Sankuri . In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 20,145 Voters.
Lagdera Constituency
Hon. Mohamed Hire Garane is the current Lagdera Constituency Member of Parliament. The Constituency has six electoral wards which are Modogashe, Bename, Goreale, Maalamin, Sabena and Baraki . In the 2017 General Elections, the Constituency had a total of 20,547 Voters.
