The Cabinet of Kenya is made up of the President, Deputy President, Attorney General and Cabinet Secretaries.
Cabinet Secretaries are nominated by the President after each general election. The nominees are then vetted by a parliamentary committee before their appointment.
The current constitution allows a maximum of 22 cabinet secretaries. The main role of the cabinet secretary is to head the ministry and give regular reports to parliament.
The National Assembly may (after giving a CS a fair hearing) pass a resolution requiring the President to dismiss the CS. This makes the CS to be fully accountability to Parliament.
The Secretary to the Cabinet may resign from office by giving notice, in writing, to the President.
