First Presidential Candidate Concedes Defeat Throws Weight Behind Ruto

David Mwaure of the Agano Party has already conceded defeat just before Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) declares the winner of presidential election.

On Sunday, August 14, Mwaure alleged in a media interview that there was a plot to obstruct the ongoing results verification at the National Tallying Centre (NTC) at the Bomas of Kenya.

Mwaure, who demanded that the IEBC cease tallying the votes, claimed that the disturbance at the Bomas of Kenya on Saturday, August 13, was intended to confuse voters and change the results.

He added that his party has totaled the results as they were posted on the IEBC webpage.

“Dear Kenyans we wish to concede defeat in the 2022 presidential elections. This we are doing after seeing what our performance has been,” Mwaure stated.

The Agano Party leader also went ahead and endorsed UDA Presidential candidate, Dr William Ruto, as the IEBC conducts the vote tallying at Bomas of Kenya.

“As we concede we endorse the winning friend, his excellency Dr William Samoei Ruto as the leading candidate. We urged the IEBC to be fervent in declaring his win when it is time to do so. We support him because his manifesto agrees with ours,” he added.

Mwaure stated that he supports Ruto because he supports freedom of worship and on the need to ensure “Kenya remains a god-fearing” nation.
