Murang’a is a County in Kenya’s Mount Kenya region in the Central Region. Murang’a County borders Nyeri County to the North, Nyandarua County to the West, Kiambu County to the South and Kirinyaga County to the East.
Murang’a County’s landmass is 2524.2 KM² and in the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census, the population of Murang’a County was one million and fifty six thousand six hundred and forty (1,056,640). Murang’a County had a total of five hundred and eighty seven thousand two hundred and twenty two (587,222) registered voters.
H.E Mwangi Wa Iria is the current Governor of Murang’a County. Hon Kang’ata Irungu is the Senator of Murang’a County while the Women Representative is Hon Maitu Sabina Wanjiru.
