University Student Nabbed For Impersonating KCSE Candidate

On Monday 14th March, 2021-the first day of KCSE 2021 exam, Police in Kisii county nabbed a University student for impersonating a KCSE candidate.

The 20-year-old culprit, Brian Angwenyi, said to be a third-year student at Kisii University was sitting the English paper one for a KCSE candidate at Kiamabundu High School in Kisii Central, Nyaribari Chache.

The candidate is on the run while the suspect is being grilled at DCI offices at Kisii Central Police Station.

Area Sub-County Police chief Peter Kimani said investigation into the matter has been launched and the suspect will be arraigned in court.

“We are in the preliminary stages of the probe and as soon as we finish, he would be in court,” he told journalists outside his office.

Kimani also revealed that the primary suspect had registered as a private candidate.

He furthe cautioned that a multi-agency team was vigilant for any suspicious cheating incidents across the County.
