TSC refutes claims that 8141 interns have hired on permanent basis

TSC has disabused the general public of information being peddled by one of the biggest media houses concerning confirmation of 8141 intern teachers. Teachers’ employer has said the information is false and should be treated with contempt.

Through a story titled ‘TSC hires 8,000 interns to fill new positions’ on page 12 the renowned news paper misreported that the commission has employed 8,141 new tutors on permanent basis.

TSC through head of Communication Beatrice Wababu has said that the information  is incorrect and it’s unfortunate.

“It has come to my attention that the hardcopy edition of today’s Standard newspapers has reported that TSC had hired 8141 intern teachers on permanent basis”, said Beatrice Wababu.

At the same time TSC has commended all teachers for continuing to comply with MOH and government directives issued from time to time for combating spread of Covid 19.

The commission further reminded teachers to comply with the dusk to dawn curfew that starts today.

“We remind teachers to comply with the dusk to dawn curfew that starts today”, said Beatrice Wababu.

“Your sustained determination to observe hygiene, social distance and curfew will keep you safe. Together we shall crush the virus. Kenya needs you after the pandemic”,  said Wababu.
