TSC Directs Teachers to Declare Wealth To Avoid Penalties

Teachers Service Commission has directed teachers who did not declare their wealth are supposed to do so as from 19th September 2022.Last year teachers were required to declare their 2019 to 2021 wealth.

Heads of Institutions were tasked to monitor the declaration progress in their respective institutions  by 31sT December, 2021.

“Good evening colleagues,
The TSC online portal for wealth declaration will be opened on Monday 19th Sept 2022 for one day only,to allow those who did not declare to do so.
Those with show cause why letters to reply to them and make sure they fill the DIAL on Monday 19th Sept 2022 and download a copy of the same”reads the statement.

Section 26 & 27 of the Public Officer Ethics Act (POEA) requires all public officers to declare their Income, Assets and Liabilities (IAL). All teachers are thus expected to fill an online Declaration form.

MODE OF DECLARATION

The Commission in 2017 Introduced an online Declaration Portal. This is the portal to be used for the declarations. Declarations can be made following the steps outlined in the DIALS Manual.

ACCESSING ONLINE PORTAL

The Declaration Form can be accessed on the Teachers Online Portal https://tsconline.tsc.go.ke/site/index Please note that you may also access this portal through your computer, laptop, a smart phone too.

INSTRUCTION MANUAL

A do-it-yourself instruction manual has also been provided and is available on the TSC website http://www.teachersonline.go.ke under the Downloads Icon, next to the Declaration link. One may also make the Declaration process by following the prompts in the form after logging in.

MONITORING OF THE DECLARATION

All Heads of Institutions are required to monitor the progress of the Declarations in their respective institutions and report all cases of non-Compliance as reflected in line with Part B in the Wealth Declaration Instruction Manual.
