On Wednesday morning, April 5, two school buses collided along the Kagio-Baricho road in Kirinyaga County, killing one and injuring several pupils.
Residents in the area rushed to help victims in the two vehicles, while police officers arrived to evaluate the situation.
Welders were also on the scene, cutting through parts of the vehicle to rescue the victims.
According to the photos taken at the site, the buses collided on the side, shattering the windows and damaging the front parts.
The injured were rushed to neighboring hospitals for treatment.
The deceased was taken to a neighboring morgue.
According to one of the residents, they heard noises and 10 minutes later the buses collided, prompting them to rush to the site of the accident.
