Turkana County is a county that is located in the North of Kenya and the Rift Valley. The county borders borders Uganda to the West, South Sudan to the North West and Ethiopia to the North East. It also borders Marsabit County to the East, Samburu County to the South East and Baringo County and West Pokot County to the South.
Turkana County has an area of 68,232.9 KM² and as per the 2019 Census, the population of Turkana County was nine hundred and twenty six thousand, nine hundred and seventy six (926,976) people.
In the 2017 General Elections, Turkana County had a total number of one hundred and ninety one thousand four hundred and thirty three (191,433) registered voters.
The Governor of Turkana County is H.E Josphat Nanok and the Turkana County senator is Malachy Charles Ekal Imana . The Women Representative of Turkana County is H.E Joyce Akai Emanikor.
Turkana County is divided into six (6) constituencies and twenty five electoral wards. The Constituencies include Turkana North, Turkana West, Turkana Central, Loima, Turkana South and Turkana East. Turkana North Constituency
Hon. Christopher Doye Nakuleu is the current Turkana North Constituency Member of Parliament. Kwanza Constituency has six wards which include; Kaeris, Lake zone, Lapur, Kaaleng/kaikor, Kibish and Nakalale. It had 34,008 registered voters in the 2017 General Elections.
Turkana West ConstituencyÂ
Turkana West Constituency is represented Hon. Daniel Epuyo Nanok. It has six wards which include; Kakuma, Lopur, Letea, Songot, Kalobeyei, Lokichoggio and Nanaam. The Constituency had 31,416 registered voters in the 2017 elections.
Turkana Central Constituency  Â
The Member of Parliament of Turkana Central Constituency is Hon. John Lodepe Nakara. The Constituency has five wards which include; Kerio Delta, Kang’atotha, Kalokol, Lodwar Township and Kanamkemer. It had 47,866 voters in the 2017 General Elections.
Loima Constituency
Hon. Jeremiah Ekamais Lemorukai is the Loima parliamentary representative. Its wards are four and they include; Kotaruk/Lobei, Turkwel, Loima and Lokiriama/Loren. It had 29,103 registered voters in the 2017 General Elections.
Turkana South Constituency
Hon. James Lomenen Ekomwa is the current Turkana South Constituency Member of Parliament. Turkana South Constituency has five wards which include; Kaputir, Katilu, Lobokat, Kalapata and Lokichar. It had 33,422 registered voters in the 2017 General Elections.
Turkana East Constituency
The Member of Parliament of Turkana East Constituency is Hon. Lokiru Ali Mohammed. The Constituency has three wards which include; Kapedo/Napeito M, Katilia and Lokori/Kochodin. It had 15,620 voters in the 2017 General Elections.
