The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced that it will release the placement results for the KCSE 2019 candidates on Tuesday 2nd June, 2020.
This will finally calm down the anxiety that had become part and parcel of applicants for almost two months now, since the second revision exercise was concluded on April 17th, 2020.
In statement, the body stated that the the placement exercise has been finalised and that applicants will get to know where they have been placed.
“Hello, placement process is complete, you will get to know your placement status tomorrow (2nd Tuesday). Check your student portal for feedback,” stated the agency.
The body further urged applicants to keep an eye on student portal in order to get feedback on on their placement report. “Keep an eye on your student portal for feedback”.
For this year’s admissions, some 125,448 candidates qualified for placement to degree programmes following the release of the 2019 KCSE examinations results.
Unlike previous years, the placement process for this year has been delayed owing to Covid-19 pandemic that has literary crippled not only the country’s economy, but the education sector.
A student can check the course and university or college he or she has been selected to pursue and join respectively by logging in to KUCCPS student portal via KUCCPS website or KUCCPS Mobile App.
To access your KUCCPS student portal account click here. Thereafter, enter your KCSE index number and the year you did you examination as the username. The password should be your KCPE index number or birth certificate number.
One can also get to know the placement report through Short Message Service (sms).
It is important to note that if the student is not satisfied with the placement report especially on the institution placed, the KUCCPS gives a window period for one to instigate an inter-university transfer.
This therefore means that if a student is not satisfied with the university placed, there is no need to panic. The placement body offers inter-university transfer services to students who wish to transfer to a university of choice.
