The government has noted that Teachers Service Commission will come up with guidelines to see to it that teachers are offering community service lessons to learners in the face of Covid-19 pandemic.
While addressing the media on stakeholder resolutions on reopening of learning institutions in the face of the Corona crisis on Thursday morning, education CS Prof. Magoha said the programme will resemble the Nyumba Kumi framework.
Good enough, CS Magoha noted parents will not incur any cost.
“Multiagency teams to map out country to ensure teachers offer community service lessons on values to learners under an arrangement similar to the Nyumba Kumi framework.
“TSC to issue guidelines on the new plan that will come at no cost to parents, stated CS Magoha.
At the same time, Magoha has reaffirmed that the government has set aside funds to cushion BoM teachers who have gone unpaid since the pandemic grounded to a halt activities in the education sector.
Also set to benefit are security staff. Magoha further assured school heads that they will get funds to settle utilities.
