Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed has awarned those teachers planning to compromise the examination process will be apprehended on the spot, de-registered, charged and prosecuted. She further cautioned that their certificates will be recalled.

Speaking at the Government of Kenya school CS Amina also hinted that the exam containers will have a double locking system. In order to seal all loop holes, only Sub-County Directors of Education (SCDE) and the Deputy County Commissioners will open them at 5:30 am.

She further noted that the ministry of Education will work collaboratively with other departments and ministries to ward off exam leakages.

“I will engage my colleagues at the Ministry of Interior, National Treasury, the Attorney General and the Director of Public Prosecutions to determine forensic means to deal with the proceeds accrued from this illegal exercise,” said CS Amina.

Amina stated that the cartels behind the sale of ‘fake’ examination papers to unsuspecting parents and candidates have been identified.

“We have identified several examination cartels that have been behind the sale of fake papers to unsuspecting parents and candidates,” CS Amina remarked.
