The Commission for University Education (CUE) has today, Tuesday, June 27, flagged 13 institutions.
According to the commission, these universities are offering degree, postgraduate, and diploma programs without being certified.
In a notice, the commission has warned members of the public against enrolling in the institutions noting that they were not authorised to offer the aforementioned programs.
“Members of the public are hereby being notified that any institution purporting to offer university education in Kenya and does not appear in this list is an illegal entity and is not authorised to operate,” CUE warned.
The institutions listed include:
- Eldoret Bible College
- Al-Munawarrah College
- Grace Life Bible College
- Africa Theological Seminary
- Regions Beyond Ministry Bible College
- Baraton College
- Africa Talent University
- Breakthrough Bible College
- Theophilus Theological College
- Northwestern Christian University
- Logos University
- Harvest Land Unversity
- Word of Faith Bible College
Among the programs provided by the aforementioned universities are a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) in Theology, a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Theology, and a Bachelor of Theology Master of Christian Leadership.
CUE also listed all approved institutions in the country, including their year of formation and accreditation.
CUE urged individuals to visit cue.or.ke/index.php/status-of-universities for information on all accredited universities authorized to operate in Kenya.
All suspect institutions should be reported to the Commission Secretary/Chief Executive Officer Commission for University Education, P.O. Box 54999-00200, and emails should be sent to email@example.com.
