Body of Tom Osinde Former Treasury Official Found in Migori

The body of former Treasury employee Tom Osinde, who went missing on June 18, was discovered in Migori’s River Kuja.

Osinde was last spotted leaving his home in Nakuru towards Kisii.

In connection with the deceased’s disappearance, two workers at his Ngata residence in Nakuru have been detained.

One of the detainees is Osinde’s driver, who was allegedly spotted driving his Toyota V8 in Nyamira and to the location where the police discovered it.

“He told us to wash the car from outside only because it was not dirty inside,” a car wash attendant said.

The driver, according to authorities, drove the vehicle to a carwash a day after Osinde was reported missing.

According to preliminary information, the suspect spent the night in his hamlet with the motor vehicle. He eventually drove it to Kilgoris, where it was found.

He allegedly informed police that Osinde had requested him to give money to a woman at a gas station on the day he went missing. However, the police claim that the account of events is untrue.

Ken Osinde, the former Chief of Staff in the office of then-Deputy President William Ruto, is Osinde’s brother.

Between 2010 through 2014, Ken also served as Kenya’s ambassador to Germany.
