KUPPET Chairman Omboko Milemba has asked teachers to ignore September strike call, saying that issues raised by KNUT secretary general can be handled harmoniously through talks.
Speaking to Nation Hon. Omboko Milemba has insisted that teachers do not need to go on strike at this time.
KNUT secretary generally Sossion has threatened to lead teachers through September strike that will completely paralyze third term activities. Among the issues that Sossion is against are;
- Delocalisation of school heads
- Mode of appraising teachers
- Promotion of teachers with higher qualifications
Other grievances that teachers have have registered their disappointments includes AON Minet medical cover and Circulars that are working against them.
Both unions, KUPPET and KNUT actively participated in the signing of 2017-2021 CBA, a call for strike at this point in time will be a load of hot air.Further more for the strike to materialize, the two unions must speak the same language.
