Kenya has confirmed three more cases of COVID-19. This brings the total number of persons who have tested positive for coronavirus to seven.

The individual was reportedly picked out during routine screening at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and tests carried out National Influenza Centre as well as the Kenya Medical Research Institure (KEMRI) laboratories.

Speaking to the press, health CS Mutahi Kagwe said all cases are imported.

He further urged them to undergo self-quarantine as soon as they return to the country, saying failure to which they risk forceful quarantine and jail terms.

“Effective today, any Kenyan who is travelling from outside the country must sign a legal form at the airport to confirm that they’re going to self-quarantine, which gives us the instrument to jail you if you do not follow the procedure. We will quarantine you forcibly for 14 days and then charge you in a court of law,” he stated.

The CS also  said that the government is following 85 contacts and will update their status later on.
