The Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (Kasneb) has called off this year’s May examinations even as coronavirus continues to upend education sector in the country.
Nicholas Letting’ who is Kasneb Chief Executive Officer said the move to postpone these exams follows presidential directive last month that led to suspension of all learning activities in the country.
“Following the Presidential directive to suspend learning activities in all educational institutions, the board of Kasneb has taken the unprecedented decision to postpone the May 2020 examinations,” said Dr Letting’
These exams were initially scheduled to take place from Tuesday, 26 May 2020 to Thursday, 28 May 2020.

New examination dates
At the same time, the examination body has extended the registration and booking of the July exams to May 29.
The new exam dates will be between July 28 and July 30, 2020.

Online learning
Kasneb had early on advised its candidates to continue preparing for forthcoming examination by accessing online learning resources provided freely.
“As part of preparation for the May 2020 examinations, you are invited to access Online Learning Resources provided for free by kasneb. All current students of kasneb are eligible for access”, read part of the notification.
How to create Kasneb elearning account
To access these resources (e-books, e-journals and past examination papers), candidates were advised to create an account by visiting https://kasneb.remotexs.co.
Once the created account has been approved, one will get a notification through email address. Thereafter, one will access these resources by visiting http://library.kasneb.or.ke.
