Ministry Postpones 2022 National Music Festival; Venues, Dates

The Kenya Music FestivalNational Level will take place in Maseno University in Kisumu County from 18th to 25th of September 2022

In order to have performances happen on weekends only, the following adjustments have been made

Dates for the national festival have been moved forward. Initially, the festival was to take place from 16th till 24th September. The new dates are 18th to 26th September, 2022

 The new regional festival dates are 3rd, 4th, 10th and 11th September

The first level of competition will be sub county which will take place on the weekend of 20th and 21st August

The county festivals will happen on the weekend of 27th and 28th August.

It has been decided that the two regions will be split as follows 

RIFT VALLEY

The region will have three zones and only position one from each zone will proceed to the national level. The zones are clustered as follows 

ZONE

  • Nakuru(Centre

Laikipia Baringo Samburu 

ZONE

  • Bomet 
  • Kericho 

Narok (Centre

  • Kajiado 

ZONE

  • Nandi 
  • Uasin Gishu 
  • West Pokot 

Elgeyo Marakwet 

  • Turkana 
  • Trans Nzoia (Centre)

EASTERN REGION

The region is clustered into two as follows 

ZONE A 

  • Kitui 

Machakos (Centre

  • Makueni 

Embu 

ZONE

  • Meru (Centre
  • Isiolo 

Tharaka 

  • Marsabit 

The committee shall post more adjudicators to the two regions should the need arise. For the far flung counties such as Turkana and Marsabit, the teams will perform all their items once they arrive at the venue so that they can travel back to school once they are done
