Ministry directs schools to upload form one NEMIS admission details by midnight

The Ministry of Education has ordered schools to conplete the uploading of 2019 form ones’ admission data onto the National Education Management Information System, NEMIS, by the end of Friday 11th January, 2019.

Admission of form ones 2019 kicked off on Monday 7th January, 2019 and its expected to to be concluded today.

All Sub- County Directors of Education, SCDE, have been urged to inform school heads to upload the data by midnight. “You are requested to inform all principals in your area of jurisdiction to upload in the NEMIS system all form ones so far admitted in their schools, by the end of day without fail,” reads memo from education ministry.

The Ministry of Education has approved transfers of about 50,000 students who requested for changes to their placements. According to ministry, all the 1,052,364 who sat for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, KCPE, last year will secure a place in secondary schools.

Students who will not have reported to schools by today will be forced to take up available vacancies at schools in their localities; from Monday next week.

Education ministry has already warned that students who will be admitted directly risk losing the government fee subsidy.
