Maseno University is a Kenyan University located in Maseno, Western, Kenya. It was established in 1990 after it grew stronger and could stay independent from its parent university which is Moi University. The university is located in Maseno township along the Kisumu- Busia road about 25 km from the heart of Kisumu city and 400 km west of Nairobi.
Maseno was named by Rev.J.J. Willis after a tree that is known as ‘oseno’ or ‘oluseno’ that existed right next to the place where the first missionaries in the region establishwd their base.
Maseno University has 4 campuses namely the Main campus, the Homabay campus, the Kisumu campus and the e-learning campus. The eCampus came to life in 2007 by Professor Fredrick N.
