List of Maseno University distance learning courses

Maseno University is a Kenyan University located in Maseno, Western, Kenya. It was established in 1990 after it grew stronger and could stay independent from its parent university which is Moi University. The university is located in Maseno township along the Kisumu- Busia road about 25 km from the heart of Kisumu city and 400 km west of Nairobi.

Maseno was named by Rev.J.J. Willis after a tree that is known as ‘oseno’ or ‘oluseno’ that existed right next to the place where the first missionaries in the region establishwd their base.

Maseno University has 4 campuses namely the Main campus, the Homabay campus, the Kisumu campus and the e-learning campus. The eCampus came to life in 2007 by Professor Fredrick N. Onyango, who was the then vice chancellor. It was then called the eLearning centre. In 2011, it became an eCampus under the Maseno University statuses with Dr. Ogange as the director. The facility has grown over time and it currently offers a total of 17 programmes to students in Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania and other African countries.

Vision; To be the leading provider of technology- based resources in order to expand opportunities for life-long learning.

School mission; To realise a world where learners, lecturers, administrators, researchers and all stakeholders use information and communication Technologies [ICT[ to enhance the overall educational experience by improving flexibility and creativity and by encouraging diverse, innovative and high quality learning, teaching, research and management practices.
