KNEC Reveals Criteria For Placing Grade Six Pupils to Junior Secondary

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) wishes to inform you that the list of schools to host Junior Secondary School (JSS) learners has been uploaded onto the KNEC CBA portal. In this regard, this is to bring to your attention the following

All headteachers presenting candidates for the 2022 KPSEA are advised to log onto CBA portal www.cba.knec.ac.keand use the school‘s credentials (username and password) to access the list of schools and guide learners to select their school choices for JSS 

Once logged onto the CBA portal, schools shall be required to:

  • click on the icon Grade 6;
  • select Register learner;
  •  click on Secondary School Choicesbutton appearing next to a learners name to key in his/her choices

Each learner shall be expected to select:

  •  two National;
  •  two Regional;
  • two County:
  •  four Subcounty;
  •  two Private Junior Schools choices (parents will be expected to meet the cost of education in private schools) 

Inquiries on Junior Secondary Schools that are missing or ought to have been included in the KNEC portal should be directed to the County Directors of Education through the SubCounty Directors of Education for guidance

The exercise runs from 15th August to 30th September, 2022 and all headteachers are urged to adhere to the deadline
