Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) will administer examinations during months of October andNovember and 2023.
In a circular dated 7th November 2023 the examination council released a circular on unauthorised persons in the examination centres during the conduct of the 2023 national examinations
According to the instructions seen by this author, KCPE and KPSEA centres will remain out of bounds from 7.00 am to 2.00 pm whereas KCSE centres will be unaccessible from 7.00am to 3.00 pm.
The following are authorized persons in examination centres;-
- Centre Manager; Principal foe secondary school and Headteacher for Primary school.
- Deputy where an examination centre has more than one deputy then centre manager shall designate one deputy to assist him/her.
- Supervisor(s);
- Invigilator(s);
- Laboratory technician and science Teachers only during practicals.
- Gatekeeper
- Authorized support staff to prepare meals for who will strictly restrict their movements to Kitchen,
The Centre Manager should prepare a list of authorised centre staff at the start Of examination as guided by the list above. The list include the Name, ID Number. TSC Number for teaching staff, Telephone number, Designated Role and Teaching subject as in the table The list must be availed to the monitoring officers:
