KNEC Issues Guidelines, Deadline For Uploading Marks For Grade 1-3, Class 5-7

The Kenya National Examinations Council, KNEC, has announced that uploading of the Learnersscores will take place from 25th January to 19th February 2021.

School-based learning assessments for Grades 1 to 3 and Classes 5 to 7 was conducted between Monday 18th January and Friday 22nd January 2021.

The ultimate goal of the assessments was to identify gaps on learning gaps occasioned by prolonged stay out of school due to Covid-19. In furtherance, the assessments was to suggest interventions to be put in place to address the gaps as learners progress through the second and third terms of their academic year.

According to the instructions seen by this writer, the Kenya National Examinations Council  CEO Dr. Mercy Karogo has stated that learners‘ scores will be keyed online directly onto the LCBE portal

She further noted that the examination body has given schools ample time so as to ease congestion on LCBE portal.

“In this regard therefore, the Council has provided ample time for schools to upload the scores as a measure of reducing congestion on the platform, said Dr. Karogo.

Login Credentials

The council further advised Sub County Directors of Education to use CP2 credential to log onto LCBE portal in order to add new schools.

“Sub County Directors of Education are advised to use the CP2 credentials to log onto the LCBE portal and add new schools if any,” further instructions from KNEC.

 Newly registered schools will use the School Code as their Username and password to log onto the LCBE portal.
