According to the new post- covid school calendar assessment of 2020 Grade 3 learners shall be administered in third term when the current academic year will come to an end.
According to the revised term dates, Term three will start on May 10, 2021 up to July 16 and preceded by a 10-day holiday before learners resume for their next academic year.
In the instructions seen by this writer, KNEC CEO Dr. Mercy Karogo has directed that headteachers should upload details of Grade 3 pupils onto KNEC portal. The exercise should take place between 4th January and 1st February, 2021.
“This is to inform all head teachers of primary schools to access the GRADE 3 registration portal by logging into the KNEC website: firstname.lastname@example.org using their user name and password to upload the details of the learners between 4th January and 1st February, 2021 in readiness for the assessment,” said KNEC boss Dr. Mercy Karogo.
All continuing learners – Grade one to three, class five to seven and form one to three – will resume studies on January 4 for their term two.
This will be 10 months away from school since the closure of learning institutions in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In addition, Dr. Mercy Karogo directed all Sub- County Directors of Education (SCDE) to add new schools in their respective sub-counties using their cp2 log in details.
She said: “All the SCDE‘s have been enabled to add new schools in their respective Sub Counties using their cp2 log in credentials.”
