KNEC and KESSHA organise regional workshops on sensitization of KCSE 2019 Group IV Subjects

Due to the new approach to project papers assessment on group IV subjects, Kenya National Secondary Schools Heads Association, KESSHA and KNEC has organised workshop that will bring together stakeholders which included setters , paper developers , tutors and lecturers on enhancing the validity and reliability of group IV KCSE subject projects assessment.

“The Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association (KESSHA) in partnership with the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has organised for regional training for Principals and Subject Teachers from 22nd to 31st January,2019,”reads a section of circular from TSC to all county directors.

Last week KNEC released a circular detailing the changes that it has effected as pertains the assessment of projects in Art & Design (442/3), Agriculture (443/3), Woodwork (444/2), Metal Work (445/2), Building Construction (446/2) and Computer Studies (451/2).

The stakeholders agreed on sensitization of teachers and principals of schools that offer group 4 subjects with project component.

The  workshops will be commence on 22nd January 2019 and end on 31st January, 2019. During the exercise, KNEC will send facilitors and principals to facilitate the teachers.

TSC has written to all County Directors to release principals and the subject teachers to the regional training exercise.

“You are required to release the principals and teachers as per the attached schedule,” says Lucy M. Mugambi, the Acting Director in charge of staffing at TSC headquarters.

The schedule for the sensitization will be as follows:


1. North Eastern date – 28.1.2019 – Garissa High School .

2. CENTRAL: TWO venues both on the same day 29/1/2019 as follows: Tumutumu Girls and Mangu High.

3. RIFT VALLEY: Three venues.
A. 25.1.19 NAROK HIGH School.
B. 30./1/19 Afraha High School, Nakuru.
C. 31.1.19 Uasin Gishu high school.

4. Western: Two Venues.
A. 22/1/19 Kakamega High.
B. 23/1/19  Namachanja high Bungoma.

5. Eastern. Two venues on the same day.
A. 23/1/19  Machakos boy
B. 23/1/2019 Kaaga girls

6. NYANZA. Two venues

A.29./1/19 @ Kisumu Girls..
B. 30./1/30 @ kisii school

7. COAST. date is 28.1.19 venue is Coast girls.
