KMTC Kisumu Campus Background Information & Location

Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC)- Kisumu Campus is one of the 71 constituent campuses of KMTC situated in Kisumu’s Kondele area right next to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital. The institution is about 2 km from Kisumu town along the Kisumu-Kakamega road. The institution became a formal training institution for nurses in 1953 with just 45 students enrolled. With a current student population of 1052, KMTC Kisumu Campus currently stands as one of the largest medical training institutions in Kisumu county.

The two main clinical experience sites used by students at KMTC Kisumu Campus are the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital and the Kisumu County Hospital. Other clinical sites used include Mbale, Mosoriot and Muhoroni Rural Health Training Centres.
