KMTC Kabarnet Campus Background Information & Location

Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) – Kabarnet Campus is one of the 67 constituent campuses of KMTC. It is located within the Baringo County Referral Hospital Grounds about 1.5km from Baringo County Headquarters in Baringo county, Kenya.

The campus was established in 1991 as a Medical Training Center at the Baringo Kenya School of Government (KSG), formerly known as the Baringo District Development Institute. It was during that time that the Government of Kenya, through the Ministry of Kenya, proposed to build the Kabarnet Medicine Training Center, which is now the KMTC Kabarnet, on an 8 acre piece of land that was set aside adjacent to the current Baringo County Referral and Teaching Hospital. The project began in 1991 where the then Rift Valley Provincial Commissioner Mr. Yusuf Haji laid the foundation stone on 22^nd May, 1991. The campus currently has a student population of 952 students.
