KMTC Imenti Campus Background Information & Location

Kenya Medical Training Institute (KMTC)- Imenti Campus is one of the 67 constituent campuses of KMTC. It is located on a 10-acre piece of land in Kinyakine, Imenti, Meru county, Kenya. The campus was launched in September 2019. It was set up to not only address the long queues in the health facilities but also to provide an education and livelihood to the people of Imenti. The institution was set up in just one year and it was a collaborative partnership with the Kenya Medical Training College, the Catholic Church, the area MP- Kathuri Murungi and Governor Kiraitu.

The setting up of KMTC Imenti Campus will help put the area on the educational map. It will also go a long way in bringing service delivery closer to the people and help bring the current doctor to patient ratio down. The people who attended the launch include Governor Kiraitu, area MPKathuri Murungi, Health Department Director Koome Muthamia, CEC Member Misheck Mutuma and the Deputy Principal of KMTC Meru Campus Peter Guchu.

The institution currently has 86 registered students who are undertaking a course in Community Health and Development.
