KMTC Eldoret Campus Background Information & Location

Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Eldoret Campus is one of the 67 constituent campuses of KMTC. It is located in Eldoret town in Uasin-Gishu county, Kenya. The campus is situated next to the Moi Teaching & Referral Hospital.

The campus was founded in 1977 as a school of nursing, training the Kenya Enrolled Community Health Nursing (KECHN). By 1987, the Hospital Maintenance School had been established with the help of the Austria Government, the German Government and the Kenyan Ministry of Health. In 1991, the school of Nursing was elevated to train the Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN). The Nursing and Hospital Maintenance schools were merged in 1996, forming the current KMTC Eldoret Campus. This opened doors for other courses to be offered. The institution currently has a total student population of over1000.

The main hospital used by this campus is the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital that is situated a stone- throw distance from the campus. Other clinical experience sites include;

-Uasin Gishu County Hospital

-Huruma Sub- County Hospital

-Rural health facilities such as Mosoriot, Burnt Forest and Turbo.
