KMTC Chuka Campus Background Information & Location

Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC)- Chuka campus is one of the 67 constituent campuses of KMTC. It was established in September 2015 as a collaboration project between the KMTC Board of Directors, the County Government of Tharaka Nithi County, Chuka University and the local community. It is currently located within Chuka University in Chuka, Tharaka Nithi County, Kenya. The institution has clubs and societies such as Christian Union, Seventh Day Adventist, Music Group and the Young Christian Society. Sporting activities such as football, basketball, netball and rugby are also available in the institution. KMTC Chuka Campus currently has a student population of 503.

KMTC Chuka Campus Programmes & Courses offered

There are plans to introduce the following courses in to the campus’ list of courses offered;

-Upgrading of Certificate to Diploma in Orthopaedic Trauma Medicine

-Upgrading of enrolled community nursing to KRCHN.

-Short courses in HIV/AIDS Testing Services, Mentorship, Monitoring and Evaluation.

The facilities available at KMTC Chuka Campus include;

-Well- stocked library

-Well- equipped skills laboratory

-Fully equipped computer laboratory.

KMTC Chuka Campus Clinical Experience Sites

The main clinical experience site used by students at KMTC Chuka Campus is the Chuka County Referral Hospital. Other clinical sites used include the Kyeni Mission Hospital, Kiirua Mission Hospital and Embu County Referral Hospital.
