The government of Kenya has directed ministry of education to work hand in hand with county governments so as identify at least 20 boarding schools per county as part of Covid-19 preparedness.
In a tweet, Deputy President Dr. William Ruto ordered the schools to be preapred and equipped for use as facilities. The Dp instructed this to be treated with expediency.

At the same time, Dr. Ruto has urged all kenyans to continue complying with government directives on personal hygiene and curfew.

Dp Ruto’s clarion call comes even as the number of persons who have tested positive for the coronavirus in the country in the last 24 hours is eight bring the total to 50.
Speaking on Monday during the daily Press briefing of covid-19 at Afya House, the CS said the eight cases are spread out in Kitui (1), Nairobi (6) and Mombasa (1).
CS Mutahi further directed bodaboda operators to ferry only one passenger per trip. The move will reduce the risk of bodaboda transmitting the virus to passengers unknowingly.
“We need to take measures. The most immediate being bodaboda. We need to protect our youth who are in this industry. We will now require every bodaboda to carry one passenger to maintain distance,” CS Kagwe said.
