Education CS directs physical audit of schools and pupils data to be used for 2020 capitation

Owing to the inaccurate and unreliable database on the number of physical schools and the actual number of pupils that can be relied for effective decision making, ministry of education has directed county directors of education to physically verify and confirm the actual  number of pupils in grade 2 to standard 8 enrolled in the schools in their respective counties.

In a circular dated 10th December 2019 and signed by Education CS Prof. George Magoha, County directors of education have been further directed to confirm the physical number of schools (Secondary and Primary) in their counties.

The required information will be used for 2020 capitation and other critical decisions. Ministry of education has reiterated that no institution shall receive capitation or any other ministerial service without this data.

The information should reach ministry of education by Monday 23, 2019.
