CS Amina: KCSE 2018 results to be released before Christmas

Education CS Amina haa confirmed that students who sat for this year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education KCSE will know their fate before Christmas.

Last year, KCSE exam results were released on December 20.

Speaking at Nairobi School where she witnessed the sealing of the last paper, the CS said the exact date will be announced by the president.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta will announce the date when the results will be released,” Said CS Amina.

On the other hand KNEC chairman professor Magoha echoed same sentiments. Professor Magoha urged parents to plan effectively not squander all money in Christmas celebration.

“We want parents to plan in advance so that they do not use all the money on Christmas and forget to plan for school fees of their children,” said Prof Magoha.

Marking centres have been distributed in 19 schools in Nairobi and its environ and teachers will report on December 3.

KNEC will subject teachers to proficiency test where they are expected to score at least 90 percent for them to be allowed to mark the scripts.

The coordination exercise which kicked off 15th November is taking place at Murang’a Teachers’ Training College, Kilimambogo Teachers’ Training College, Thogoto Teachers’ Training College and Railway Training Institute will end on Friday 30th November.
