KUCCPS Cautions KCSE 2019 Candidates as they await Placement

Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has cautioned applicants awaiting placement not to fall prey of (online) social media fraudsters masquerading as KUCCPS staff.

The placement body has noted that the placement process is underway and that they do not make official communication through whatsApp groups.

“As we continue to process placement applications, we would like to caution applicants against individuals posing online as KUCCPS staff, especially in WhatsApp groups,” stated the body through a tweet.

“KUCCPS does not operate any WhatsApp group” further read the tweet.

In order to allow KCSE 2019 applicants who had not secured placements in school/centre application and first revision, KUCCPS opened student portal between April 2, 2020 and the deadline for second revision was on Friday April 17, 2020.

Once the whole application exercise has been concluded, what remains is for the applicants to wait for their placement report. It is during this period of waiting that unscrupulous persons take advantage of anxious candidates.

It is important to note that KUCCPS uses print media and its website (kuccps.net) to disseminate crucial information to applicants.

Applicants can track placement status after application has been completed and they can only confirm institution placed after KUCCPS has finalized the process of placement.

In addition, successfully placed applicants can also be notified through SMS or student portal.
