Reports from the Daily Star reveal that Tottenham are close to completing a £12million deal for Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino wants another defensive midfielder and targeting to reunite with Wanyama, a player he worked with at Southampton. Wanyama has only a year remaining on his contract and the Saints are set to cash in.
However, it’s understood that Southampton have now reluctantly accepted Wanyama, who has one year remaining on his current contract, to rejoin his old boss in London.
Tottenham is also eyeing Saints attacker Sadio Mane – so as Liverpool and Manchester United.
Though Southampton are fighting to keep £30m-rated Mane, 24, and hope to persuade him to sign a new contract.
Negotiations have moved on in the last 24 hours, with Spurs eager to finalize this deal and move on to fresh targets.
