Tharaka Nithi County is among the counties that are located in the Central Region of Kenya. Tharaka Nithi County has a total landmass of 2,564.4 Km². Tharaka Nithi County borders Kitui County to the East , Meru County to the North and Embu County to the South.
As per the 2019 Census, the population of Tharaka Nithi County was three hundred and ninety three thousand one hundred and seventy seven (393,177). In the 2017 General Elections, Tharaka Nithi County had a total number of two hundred and thirteen thousand one hundred and fifty seven (213,157) registered voters.
The Governor of Tharaka Nithi County is H.E Njuki Onesmus Muthomi. The Senator of Tharaka Nithi County is Hon. kithure kindiki and Hon. Beatrice Nkatha Nyaga is the Women Representative.

There are five electoral wards in Maara Constituency which are Mitheru, Muthambi, Mwimbi, Ganga and Chogoria. Hon. Japhet Miriti Kareke Mbiuki is the Member of Parliament of Maara Constituency. In the 2017 General Elections, Maara Constituency had a total of sixty eight thousand seven hundred and twenty nine (68,729) Voters.
Chuka/Igambang’ombe Constituency has five electoral wards which are Mariani, Karingani, Magumoni, Mugwe and Igambang’ombe. The Member of Parliament of Chuka/Igambang’ombe Constituency is Hon. Patrick Munene Ntwiga. In the 2017 General Elections, Chuka/Igambang’ombe Constituency had a total of seventy six thousand four hundred and eighty nine (76,489) Voters.
Tharaka Constituency has five electoral wards which are; Gatunga, Mukothima, Nkondi, Chiakariga and Marimanti. The members of Parliament of Tharaka Constituency is Hon. George Gitonga Murugara. In the 2017 General Elections, Tharaka Constituency had a total of sixty seven thousand nine hundred and thirty nine (67,939) Voters.
