Isiolo County is among the counties that are located in the Eastern Region of Kenya. Isiolo County has an area of 25,350.6 Km². Isiolo County borders Garissa County to the east, Marsabit County to the North West, Meru County to the South West, Samburu County to the East, Kitui County to the South West, Wajir County to the North Eastand Tana River County to the south east.
As per the 2019 Census, the population of Isiolo County was two hundred and sixty two thousand and two (268,002) and an annual growth of 1.45%. In the 2017 General Elections, Isiolo County had a total number of seventy five thousand three hundred and thirty five (75,355) registered voters.
The Governor of Isiolo County is H.E Kuti Mohamed Abdi. The Senator of Isiolo County is Hon. Adan Dullo Fatuma and Hon Jaldesa Rehema Dida is the Women Representative.
Isiolo County is divided into two (2) constituencies and nine (9) electoral wards. Below is a list of all the consituencies in Isiolo County, Wards in each ward and the current Member of Parliament;
Isiolo North Constituency
Isiolo North Constituency has seven wards which include ; Wabera, Bulla Pesa, Chari, Cherab, Ngare Mara, Burat and Oldo/Nyiro. The Constituency’s Member of Parliament is H.E Hassan Oda Hulufo. In the 2017 General Elections, Isiolo North Constituency had fifty six thousand, two hundred and seventy (56,270) number of registered voters.
Isiolo South Constituency
Isiolo South Constituency’s Member of Parliament is H.E Abdi Koropu Tepo. Isiolo South Constituency has three wards; Garba Tulla, Kina and Sericho. The Constituency had nineteen thousand and eighty five (19,085) number of registered voters in the 2017 General Elections.
